I have had chronic insomnia since I was a teen.

One of the reasons I started drinking regularly was to deal with the anxiety that keeps me awake and turn off my brain so I could pass out.

I have noticed that even getting just a few hours of normal sleep and being tired the next day is better than passing out and waking up with a raging hangover.
