I'm older than you, and kept drinking into my 50's. You are avoiding so much pain and misery for yourself & your family. I longed to be able to have 'a few' now and then, but there was no such thing as a few. Once the first drink hit my system, there was no telling what might happen. It was a dangerous and destructive way to live.
