I am grateful to be sober, as I am every morning. But today is the eve of my two-year anniversary of becoming sober, so I am particulary grateful for that moment of clarity two years ago where I saw where I was headed if I kept drinking. Grateful that I took action on my decision to quit, as opposed to the empty alcoholic promises to quit I had made a million times before.
Grateful for a second chance.
