I would move this to the newcomers area, you may get a lot more responses there. I am the alcoholic in this scenario, and I have been helped from AA. It has been the best free therapy I could have asked for. My brain is getting back on track, after being abused for 27+ years of my life with alcohol. I can tell you that I wanted to change. I wanted to become sober. I wanted to "re-wire" my thinking. I wanted it more than anything. He needs to really want it before he will be able to change.
