Just returned from visiting my friend int he ER from a relapse
Her detox symptoms were so bad, she felt the ER would be her best option. I'm glad she sought medical help.
I'm just immensely sad...so hard to see her like this. She is filled with self disgust and remorse. I told her she has so much going for her and good people in her life.
Her sponsor is out of town and the stand in sponsor hasn't responded to her texts / calls. I just tried to be there for her and listen. I know she wants a better life for herself.
Seeing her in this condition is a very sober reminder to stay sober.
