I've really struggled with doctors too Dawnie so I can understand your frustration. Sometimes it is really hard to get the help you need/want. But you can't use it as an excuse not to quit. Going to AA sounds like a great idea. I have googled meetings in Manc before when I was there for a weekend and you have a really good choice there! There's a women's meeting in the city centre, and there are SMART meetings in Stockport on a Thursday afternoon. For me it really helped to be with people who had gone through the same alcohol services as I had and still not managed to get sober. I think local support is really important.
