I doubt if anyone at an AA meeting would ever tell anyone that they don't belong there.
You are coming to the conclusion that you have a drinking problem. Why don't you not worry about the label 'alcoholic' and just decide if your drinking is interfering with your life? If it is, there are several recovery groups you can consider, and you can read about all of them online. Here's a useful link that compares some of them:

I believe it's easier to start with a group with which you share the basic philosophy. But some people take ideas from more than one organization.

You have nothing to apologize for! You drink heavily, and you're recognizing the effect it is having on you. Some introspection about why you like to drink so heavily may be useful. And some tools for how to stop.
