I've found that my defects of character have the unfortunate ability to “morph” into something more intricate if I'm not on my guard (by practicing my program on a daily basis). It seems that when I forget to have God run my life and I hop back into the driver's seat, that defect can emerge again in a similar form. I have to be vigilant to spot, admit, and correct the defect, allowing God to do His work of removal.
