This is wonderful MG - Reading it reminds me of my part in the chaos, that by reacting I prolong the chaos and accomplish nothing.
I have learned (from you) to take a more positive approach when talking to my son. I have learned to encourage his constructive efforts and let the rest go. There is nothing negative that I could tell him that he doesn't already know or feel, but positive reinforcement lifts his spirits and gives him the strength to keep trying.
