Beyondthesky I am very sorry you had such a bad experience at a first meeting. I have to say that it’s an uncommon experience, (so uncommon that I have never heard of it actually). Where I’ve attended meetings the meeting changes quickly to a discussion a new person will more likely benefit from (when it is known a newcomer is present). I would suggest that you try another meeting in your area. My hunch is that if you went back to that same meeting you would find a lot of folks with their tails between their legs and hear at least a few apologies. Even so, I think a different meeting would be best. It's worth a try, it really is.
