The fact that you chose ⅓ of the time-frame I recommended tells me that you are deeply ambivalent about drinking, which suggests addiction. There is a good reason that I suggested stopping for 90 days. It is longer then your average drinker wants to quit for (your post is 'exhibit A'), but not exactly life-altering, either. It is a good way to see just how deep into this you are if you immediately balk at it, or if you don't reach the 90 day mark. It is also about how long it will take for you to start to notice what 'normal' actually feels like.
