Hi, thank you for all the responses. I wanted to comment because I agree- making your own 'method' if you will for sobriety is often discouraged. There is no 'wrong' way. there are no methods that are 'more right' than others either. Many people quit on their own (ie without some of the prevailing recvery methods.) It doesn't mean that they were any less afflicted, or less alcoholic... just because they 'didn't need to go to xyz_fill in the blank__' recovery method. It's just one more road. And entirely possible.

I personally belive that change comes from within anyways, so no matter what recovery method, or lack of, you are following, it's up to you to just quit drinking and decide to change.
