It's always helpful to make up a plan early on in sobriety. Things like what you did, taking the dog for a walk help break up the routine. You need to make a list of things you can do to keep your mind and body busy early on. Even the most mundane tasks can be beneficial. Coming here, surfing and posting helps alot too.
