Day 3 sober after 3 years of drinking
Hello - i am a 29 year old guy - who basically started drinking around 3 years ago. For the first 2 years i would have about 2 drinks a day and slightly heavier over the weekends.
Over the past year I have been mixing a half pint of bacardi with diet coke and finishing one within an hour. Every day.
The thought of going sober hit me when I realized I have to do it to succesfully have a kid. As a couple my wife and I have been diagnoised with infertility - and are undergoing IVF treatment. I was shocked to hear how much alcohol impacts male sperm quality.
Its day 3 now - i havent felt anything major except excessive dreaming at night and a few anxious moments.
The labor day weekend is coming up and am getting ready for hanging out with a bunch of friends and am worried that i may slip again.
Any other examples of withdrawal after my volume of drinking? Do you guys feel I can do this?
