Grateful for my boyfriend and his sweet words

I have not started my recovery or detox yet. I am starting next month when I can get the time off work.

This morning I was telling my boyfriend how scared I was that he would not see me in the same light after rehab. I have been constantly worried about the stigma attached to it. Plus I'm scared I won't be the same loving, sweet, active person I am with the vicodin. This was his response to me;

"you are my light. Over time I got to know every curve of your body, how your nose is shaped, how your eyes stare at me. But once I got to know your heart, that is when I truly fell in love. I fell in love with your heart when you had no vicodin in your system. I will still love that same heart when you quit. You were my light when I needed it and now I want to be yours and show you that you can shine bright because you are worth it."

WOW. I'm so lucky to have this supportive man in my life. I'm so grateful.
