These boards helped me learn how to communicate even more effectively, because they mostly lack the nonverbal cues we normally rely on in face to face discussions. This type of communication requires extra effort.
These boards also helped me learn to stop taking things personally (we always say to a newcomer, "it isn't personal, it's what the A does"). It is a choice to make or take things personally, with anyone. Everything I say or do is a reflection/projection of my own reality. Everything we all do is a reflection of self. A hallmark codie behavior is not knowing that, or forgetting it.
