Hi!

I'm new here and have been sober for about a month. I generally describe myself as an atheist or humanist, depending on my mood and who I'm talking to. There are no alternative meetings in my state as far as I can tell (I'm in the deep south). But I stumbled across rational recovery about a year ago during a short lived moment of clarity. I ordered the book, but I had already started drinking again by the time it arrived. But its been very helpful this time. The idea that I am in control of my own actions is the only one I can accept. Otherwise, finding excuses to drink is just too easy.

I've been mostly going it alone, but I think this might be a good supplement.
