My first sponsor told me he didn't care if I went to AA meetings to look at the girls, as long as I came. So if a beautiful woman keeps you hanging around, more power to you.
But I loved this line:

Alcohol does eventually betray us completely. But like a battered spouse, we hang around and take the beatings, because we don't really know what else to do.
The only question is, how long will you take the beatings?
