I stopped going out - and I drank at home.
The problem continued - worse in way cos I didn't have to worry about embarrassing myself if I drank too much.
To me, the only sure way to slay this dragon is to turn your back on it and walk away.
If you don't engage it at all - remove booze from your life completely - you have an excellent chance of a wonderful new life, IMO.
It's scary, sure - but you're not alone - you have support here
