Sorry to hear of the loss to alcohol. Any loss from self-respect the first time a person pukes, to the memories lost in black outs, to an early burial.

All of us seeking or have chosen sobriety are exceptional examples of how man can change his/her ways or surrender our lives to a habit.

I too know someone who drank herself to death. She only just popped back into memory.

It's said alcohol has a few qualities that it can add to human life. The same qualities can be found in fruit juices and fruit juices don't take peoples self-respect, relationships, jobs, licenses and often leaves our loved ones and strangers lives with eternal sorrow when we're the lucky ones who don't die from it.

We can only save ourselves. We can do that. With others, we can 'try' but that is all we can do. Still, it's so sad to lose them.
