How do they turn a letter into a number?
They average your grades.
A = 4 points
B = 3 points
C = 2 points
D = 1 point
F = 0 point
and there are percentages for a + or a -
Then all your grades for each college course are added up and then divided by the number of courses.
Therefore you can start to see how hard it is to keep above 3.0
Also with that kind of GPA you might make the "Dean's List". If that happens that too needs to be put somewhere on each application for a grant or student loan.
