When I first started recovery, I noticed I tended to
underestimate the amount I drank, the time I spent drinking, and if I every thought about it in terms of percentage, I would have lowballed that figure. So even if your 1% is accurate, you have to grapple with the other 99%. If you are drinking more than the "recommended" amount of alcohol (two drinks per day for men) 99 percent of the time, then you could be marching down the path of dependence. So I agree that quitting for a month will give you something to think about...mainly how much you dwell on drinking. If you don't crave it, great.
