I'm cooking home-made spaghetti tonight, with whole grain pasta. Something new I learned recently about spaghetti sauce is that adding brown sugar really gives it a great flavor.
I know that's old news to you veteran cooks, but I only learned it about a year ago. When I was in college (35 years ago), I worked a summer job at a local amusement park. The employee's cafeteria had the best spaghetti... it had a slightly sweet flavor. I thought for years that it was some secret recipe, but I found out later that it was just adding a bit of brown sugar.
