I live in the US, have two teenage daughters and am an accountant. The only alcoholic in the my life is my husband of (almost) 20 years.
I came to these boards several months ago and have found so much help and hope here. I don't have any experience with alcoholic parents but there are many here who do and I'm sure they'll be along to welcome you soon.
Have you thought about Alanon? I know that reading the book "Codependent No More" was a big eye opener for me.
