(((Snarf))) - I think you're doing all the right things, getting a jump on the community service, going to school, dealing with all this head on.
BTW, I did MANY an hour of community service for the city of Atlanta while locked up in a diversion center and we were dragged to clean to parks, where crackheads hung out (my DOC), but it was actually a good thing..got to see the Red Dogs (Atlanta's drug squad) in action, which reminded where I COULD be if I chose to go back out. By doing it the way you're doing it, I think you'll have some better options. It's not fun, by any means, but it is humbling and it does give you time to think about where you've been and were you're going.
