For several months I knew that my girlfriend was not "the one" for me but I stayed with her as I did not trust myself to be alone on the weekends. Sounds pathetic right? However about a month ago I ended and have remaind sober and been enjoying my weekends. Iv'e always heard you shouldn't date anyone in the first year of sobriety. I did, and it didn't turn out all that bad, I learned some things about myself and have grown as a person. Also I think that after just a few outings or dates you can learn real quick if a person's social life revolves around drinking.
