I'm glad you're looking into your drinking problem and this is a great place to get support and information. I know it's hard to put it "out there" (I read for months before getting up the nerve to make a post), but I also know you'll feel welcome here.
Alcoholism (if you have those tendencies) is progressive, so it just gets worse over a period of time. We start off drinking a few glasses of wine, a few beers, and find that before we know it, we're drinking more, drinking more often, drinking earlier in the day, looking for more opportunities to drink, drinking before the party, after the party, thinking about drinking etc........and of course, having more hangovers.
The lack of control is a real red flag, and it sounds like that's why you're here. We understand completely, and we're here for you. I hope you keep posting and reading.
