Pain can be a gift, but when you have constant pain for years and years, it's not a gift at all. It's a burden.
Ask a man who's been beat over and over and ask him what he's learned. He's learned to hate the world, mistrust the world and at times, may be too far gone to care.
Much of my pain has been a gift since it thrust me into facing fears, being independent, but there has been pain that has simply scared and damaged me. I'll take these pains to my grave with no lessons learned.
