Life or death...

It would be so easy to get 'comfortable' in sobriety, things to be going well and to forget that for an alcoholic; to drink is to die.

I think as long as there is total acceptance that there is nothing over-dramatic about that statement, then it stops you from getting complacent in recovery, and sobriety losing it's NO1 priority.

At 24 and with things looking up it would be easy for my alcoholic mind to start implying that things really weren't that bad... BUT they were... why would I have gotten sober in the first place!! Always remember why you decided to finally sign up to SR and go to AA or whatever if things "weren't that bad."
