Good to hear from you, but sorry about the circumstances.
I do feel good about where you are in all this. I think you're handling this the best way you can in order to have some happiness and sense of normalicy in your life.
I was thinking the other day about what has changed in the past 10 years. You know the conclusion I've come to? The only thing that has changed is me. However, with my change came my son's change as well.
For example, there are no more abusive phone calls. He doesn't try to con me anymore by saying he is starting a job on Monday. No more asking for anything.
I think what finally happens is they realize that they have pushed every button they could, and now the game is over because we have become way too wise!
I'm happy that you are able to move on with your life. We all have to come to that point in order to survive.
