txsar in early recovery it is a very good idea for women to stick with women and men with men, that is not to say that going to a mixed meeting is a bad idea, but as far as phone numbers go and early friendships it is really best.
One of the primary ways AA works is one alcoholic helping another alcoholic stay sober, part of that is being able to relate to one another as closely as possible, being a man I will openly admit that I do not have a clue when it comes to ladies except in a bad way!!! LOL I do not go there any more! Yes I have friends in AA that are ladies, but we have some time sober and all of us understand that it is strictly friendship and recovery.
