From this link, CERI: Living with Alcohol
Alcohol also causes the liver to convert glycogen (a sugar-storage carbohydrate) into sugar. For people with blood-sugar regulation problems (primarily reactive hypoglycemia), alcohol can offer a “quick fix” to normalize blood sugar.
What good does it do to stop drinking but then turn around and trash your body with caffeine, nicotine and sugar?!?!?
You're not "trashing" your body with sugar
You have been getting the suger all along from the alcohol. Take away the alcohol and you still need the sugar in your system. Chocolate chip cookies are a great source.
