Fitting bikes... That can be such a nightmare. So many variables. If it's your back, think stem... Are you stretched out enough? Too much? In a riding position, looking down, your view of the front axle should be obscured by the handlebar.
This assumes of course you seat height is correct.
Move the seat back or forward on the rails to stretch out or tighten up. Or, consider a longer stem. Then of course there is the little matter of stem height....
