I understand your fears...
I am the mother of an alcoholic(25).
I came here two years ago frantic and full of fear, convinced it was my job to fix her. Between Friends and Family Forums, and Al-Anon, I learned about her disease, and that I couldn't control it, cure it or fix it. I learned to separate my process from hers, detach and keep the focus on me and turn her over to her HP and trust His plan for her.
I am glad you have found us...
Edit: I should add that today she will have a month sober tomorrow after many relapses and 8 years of using
