I'm sure the hops aren't making you sleepy, it's likely the psychological/placebo effect of "drinking a beer".
I bet I'd feel a bit relaxed if I banged a syringe of saline (ex junkie here..), but that is INSANE thinking and I prefer NOT to flirt that closely with my addiction.
