I believe it is more a matter of the people you are with as opposed to the time of day/night you are out when it comes to looking for trouble.

I completely agree with this statement. I'm young and in college, so obviously late nights are expected, but if I surround myself with other people in the program or just people who I know won't be doing drugs or drinking, I'm all set to be out until whenever. However, there is an exception: if I, myself, am having a day where everything has gone to sh!t or i'm just struggling, it's probably best for me to be inside with either people I trust or on the phone with my sponsor or a close friend who'll allow me to hash out whatever is going on with them. Or, if I'm just being a grumpy jerk, then I'll just go to bed early or to the gym or something along those lines =]
