Still......no contact
Ok....it's been several days and I have had no contact with my son. He has tried to call me once....but I let the phone ring and didn't answer it. He didn't leave a message. I didn't call him back.
I have resisted the urges (and yes I have had them) to call him to see how he's doing.....to let him know I love him.
There's a part of me that asks myself "Are you just trying to punish him?" and the answer is "no". I am protecting my boundaries. And I realize that if I call him or pick up the phone when he calls me, the boundaries aren't really boundaries.
