I hope you don't take this the wrong way, but it sounds to me like you are not looking at the fact that you were drinking and driving, and that you could have killed someone, including yourself. I'm not saying I didn't drink and drive, because I am sad to say I did, but the reality of that is horribly scary.
I agree you should work to take care of your legal situation, but please don't lose sight of what you did.
