jowinbo, for me, being sober meant I had to "re-find" myself. I had to "re-connect" with my feelings, emotions, friends, loved ones, family members, hobbies, etc.....

For several years my life revolved around alcohol. From planning weeknights and weekends to make sure I was going to be able to get drunk, to missing out on many different events and or activities due to booze, I did everything with booze in mind. It is really different when now you can do everything without booze. Think of the freedom. You want to go to the movies, go. You want to catch a ball game, go. You want to read a good book, go. You want to lay on the couch and do nothing, do it. You can do whatever you want without something holding you back. I think of alcohol as a brand new baby. You have to change your life around it and there are certain things you miss out on. I think of sobriety as when your kids go off to college. You have so much freedom now, you dont know what to do with yourself.

Dont drink and know we are here for you.
