A downturn is when your neighbor loses his job and a recession is when you lose your job.
I was caught in a "down sizing" 18 years ago in which 17 of us were affected. I saw the handwriting on the wall and took early retirement, along with several other people who were close to retirement age. Doesn't matter what nice spin they put on it...out is out in any language!

Yes, I'm going to try to see Mom soon...it's just a matter of the technicalities involved in transporting back and forth from the nursing home. We'll work it out.
