Hi welcome to SR. I am the mother of a crack addict. My son can be a wonderful caring person, however if he were to enter in to a relationship with someone I would tell her to run. I am so sorry that sounds very cynical. It is a vicious roller coaster with a crack user. They lie, manipulate, steal and many broken promises. I am sure this gentlemen is a wonderful person, however you have not been in this relationship for a long time are you prepared for what goes along with this addiction? You truly must take care of yourself. Good for you for not bailing him out. Sometimes it takes many falls for them until they go in to recovery, sometimes they don't. I am so sorry you have to go through this. Keep coming back to SR. many wonderful, understanding people. Some of the most intelligent people are drug addicts. It affects every walk of life.
