Hi Hunter, I also felt really sad at the very beginning but I did what was suggested and went to lots of meetings and got a sponsor who's recovery I really admire. Slowly, the joy started to seep in and fill the cracks that alcohol had created in my soul. The miracle is that I have lost the desire to drink and I have made new friendships in AA. It really is worth it if you stick with it. Even if it is hard in the beginning, I find "fake it till you make it" really works for me
