Hi Texas....I am NOT a lawyer. That said, you have been given some very good advice. Ten grand sounds a little excessive for any kind of DUI, I would try to shop around. Diabetes will in fact skew the results. Also, I would talk to whatever lawyer you choose and have him subpoena the calibration records of the breathalizer, and if this was in fact a "rookie" cop, make sure your lawyer questions him on the amount of breathalizers he has given, etc. Were you given any field sobriety tests?
