hi!

Welcome to Soberrecovery!

Yes, I imagine it *is* a lot to take in at first -
but frankly -
every OTHER forum on the web could stand to learn from this one.

The page is segmented into 'forums' ...
and each forum ... is dedicated to a subject.
For example -
Substance Abuse.
Alcoholism
Friends & Family of Substance Abusers

... and so on.

There's even a Relationships forum ...
that might help with the whole 'husband' thing.

Since your initial post talks of quitting pot -
I suggest checking out the Substance Abuse Forums.
There's a ton of people posting there, as well as here in Newcomers
people whose experiences you can read and share with for your own recovery.

The most important thing to remember
now that you've found us
is that
now that you've found us
you are not alone.

It takes a little time to get the hang of all the little clicky things and stuff on this site but it's worth every minute I've spent here.

The 'sponsor' thing,
you'll find-
is mostly related to those in Programs of Recovery
such as AA (Alcoholics Anonymous)
or NA (Narcotics Anonymous)
Twelve Step Programs, and their jargon.
Soberrecovery is a good compliment to a more structured twelve step program.
A GREAT one, actually.

As far as getting to know others, there's people on this site who have come to know one another and are friends, some have posted here for years, others for only a few months.

We all have the one objective -
and that's to be here for each other
as we try to remain clean and sober.

Take your time, look around ... get settled in.

Glad to meet you!
