ACA is not Al-Anon. I am an adult child who is in Al-Anon, and yes, it works for me. As to your question about which is best, that's so dependent on where you live, probably. Groups can be especially healthy in one part of the country.....and nearly defunct in other parts of the country.
Try and see where you feel OK, where you sense real recovery from the issues, and where you can heal. You will know. Check your gut. I also am a big believer that sometimes being in a sick group is probably where we belong. *lol.....because we just need to not even be confronted with the notion of real recovery.
So.......it just depends.
