I'd like to first welcome you to SR!

I would highly encourage you to find another doctor and get a second opinion. Alcoholism can do some horrible things to our bodies, our liver being a major victim of the physical assault we put our bodies through.

Yes, Dr.'s can be overworked but it is their job to take care of the patient, not see if they can break some record as to how many patients they "see" a day. Don't let your Dr. rush you. You aren't paying by the minute.

If you are having problems like you describe, please get to a doctor asap. I am not a Dr., but I do know that liver problems, if that's what this is, can be serious. Go back to your doc, tell him/her what you are experiencing and insist they do further testing. If they won't, find another Dr. Your health is nothing to mess with.
