Our own experiences only please!

In my opinion

I think that when someone is responding to a thread that asks an opinion on something, I feel we should only comment on OUR OWN personal experience.

I love SR, I think it's one of those gifts of Recovery that we are given.

It can be a very powerful tool in one's Recovery.

Personally, I don't feel it's too much help to someone when they are asking for people's experiences and someone, who has no personal experience in the matter at hand responds with an opinion.

Who's experience are they refering to?

Is the person who they heard these things from an authority?

If I have never personally experienced a situation, why would I come on here and say that something will or won't work?

Also, I question where some of the statistics are coming from.

It seems like in each thread posted, someone is throwing out percentages of people this certain situation works for and doesn't work for. Where did this information come from?

I feel it's the same as an individual who does not suffer from addiction coming on here and posting something that they simply overheard someone saying.

Can we keep our responses to our own personal experience, strength and hope please?

God Bless
