I, too, would tell the doctor.
I was a nurse for years, and unfortunately, not all people who work in the doctor's offices and hospitals need to be there. It doesn't always do any good, but I always tell whoever is in charge that I was treated rudely...it makes me feel better, that at least I stood up for myself.
Of course, I'm a smarta$$. I probably would have responded "maybe the doctor needs a new SECRETARY!"
