Questions about AA meetings
I am researching the AA meetings in my town to try to find one that would fit me. I was wondering if someone could help me out by explaining what the difference between open discussion and closed discussion is. Can anyone just show up to both? I found one meeting that I was interested in because it said that it was for beginners but it also says closed discussion. Also, I know a lot of people here are new like me and have never been to an AA meeting. A lot of the fear I have is because I have no idea what to expect. I am not totally ready to share with anyone, I don't think. Could someone please just walk me, and anyone else that has these same questions, through what an AA meeting is like. In particular, what it is like for a new person. Thank you!!
