I can relate to all 3 sides of the triangle, dysfunctional should have been my middle name.
Dad with alcohol issues, Mom with psych issues, extended family (ie: their parents with other areas of dysfunction, suicidal, mental, rage-a-holics...)
Have no idea what a "normal" family should be like...grew up being the caretaker, became a nurse, met another addict with the same dysfunctional background, had a couple of kids...
Trying to heal...
& learn how to have a healthy relationship....
don't know if it's possible in my mid 40's.
But I'm a work in progress...
